From Cup to Conflict: The Story Behind the Boston Tea Party

This lecture examines how tea shaped England, the East India Company, and colonial America, touching on the Townshend Revenue Act, the Tea Act of 1773, and the iconic Boston Tea Party. We’ll also delve into the Intolerable Acts, smuggling, and the waves of technological, and agricultural innovation sparked by a simple cup of whole-leaf tea.
Throughout the lecture, participants will sample the varieties of tea that were famously thrown into Boston Harbor. This lecture shows how one humble leaf stirred revolution—and shaped history.
