Holy Basil – Vana (Ocimum gratissimu) also known as Tulsi, is one of the most cherished and sacred plants in India. It has been widely used for centuries in holistic Ayurvedic medicine and is an important symbol in the Hindu religion. This varietal is also known as the forest type because it was the original wild bush. It is very high in eugenol, and is an analgesic and antiseptic. It has green leaves and a white blossom. It is known for being the most fragrant of the three Holy Basil varietals.
