  • Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol
  • Ivy and pine holly symbolize the renewal of life and good luck
  • Father Christmas, tall and skinny, wears a long, red-hooded robe trimmed in white fur
  • Stockings are hung by the fire in hopes that Father Christmas will fill them with gold covered chocolate coins
  • Mince tarts, plum pudding and sugar mice
  • Christmas crackers filled with toys and a crown

A Christmas Tea Poem
 Christmas Teddy

On Christmas Day, at half past three,
brew yourself a cup of tea.
I'll think of you and you'll think of me,
While sitting around your Christmas Tree.

~Author Unknown

In many countries around the world, such as Morocco and Afghanistan, welcoming guests with tea is a popular tradition. The gift of tea is sometimes used for symbolic reasons, such as in the Chinese culture, where pu-erh tea is given at weddings to symbolize fortune and celebration. This Christmas, consider starting your own tea traditions in the company of family and friends.

Sincerely,

Danielle Beaudette
