There is an old Chinese proverb that reads:
"One can live without food for weeks,
but not without tea for even one day." I wonder
what it is about the Camellia sinensis
leaves that has us longing for that steaming
cup of tea. It could be the ceremony in
taking the steps to prepare our tea, or
perhaps it is our fragile teacup that was a
special gift. Maybe it is the comfort we
take in the tradition of tea--that reward
the first sip brings us offering security
and relief from stress.
As we celebrate the bounty of Thanksgiving,
tea, unlike any other beverage, can bring
comfort and solace to those in need, and
perhaps new companionship in conversation
and friendships. Even in these difficult
economic times, a simple cup of tea can be a
warm gift of kindness.
At The Cozy Tea Cart, we are proud to
support a group of local non-profit
organizations. And we are thankful for all
our customers and your continued patronage.
In the true spirit and ceremony of tea
during this holiday season, The Cozy Tea
Cart will donate 10% of all proceeds between
Nov.1st through Dec.15th to SHARE, a local
non-profit program which offers financial
assistance, food, and clothing to area
families experiencing financial
difficulties.
We invite you to join us by asking your
friends and family over for an afternoon
holiday tea party, where everyone brings
something special to the table. And in lieu
of gifts, ask for a donation to your
favorite charitable organization. Or offer a
tea party to a family who would appreciate
your gesture of kindness. Whatever kind
action you give, it will put a smile on
their face, and warm their hearts and yours.
May your gift of comfort bring joy and
happiness to many.
Our warmest wishes, that you wake
on Thanksgiving morning to a home filled
with family, friends and a warm pot of tea.
