Greetings to The Cozy Tea Cart newsletter members,

We would like to wish you a wonderful 4th of July celebration month!  I apologize for getting the July newsletter out so late.

My family and I were away celebrating our countries holiday.  We’d enjoyed several days of fireworks while being awed by the beautiful coast of Bar Harbor, Maine.  There are wonderful tea shops all around the northern Maine coasts, and we’d highly recommend a road trip up Route 1 in Maine.  If you don’t have the opportunity to do so, make a cup of freshly brewed iced tea (click here for our list of summer teas), some blueberry muffins and set off on a day trip adventure in your local area.  You never know how nature will surprise you around each corner!

While on vacation and sipping my 32oz. travel mug of iced tea, I started to think of the wonderful Cozy Tea Cart customers and my friends.  This brought me to ponder about how they are enjoying our fine teas during the cold months, but sometimes forget the hot brew is fabulous iced. And it is still loaded with the antioxidant (phytochemical) benefits that help protect our bodies by strengthening the immune system.  So pull out your travel mugs and brew yourself the perfect cup of iced tea for the road! View our web site for more details on iced tea brewing. Remember, any way you brew one of The Cozy Tea Cart's teas, you will be enjoying a quality iced tea.  Drink up and stay cool this summer!

The link between Natick Labs, cancer and green tea

Posted on: 5/7/2006

Jon Brodkin

Milford Daily News

When Natick Labs chemist Ferdinando Bruno began researching potential uses for a component found in green tea, his goal was simple: build an efficient and light plastic battery to power equipment used on the battlefield. Bruno never dreamed he would instead find a new cancer treatment that may heal patients without the painful side effects associated with most forms of chemotherapy. His discovery, which is being pursued at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell with collaboration from U.S. Army scientists from Natick Labs, is showing promise in treating colorectal cancer and cancer of the breast, head, and neck. The treatment, researchers say, is an example of "green chemistry" because it produces none of the toxic waste associated with other chemotherapy --- to view the remainder of this article click here.
