Text Box: HOURS OF OPERATION

Greetings to The Cozy Tea Cart newsletter members.

I’d like to begin by wishing you a very Happy New Year.  The start of the New Year is more than just a change of the calendar page.  To some, it symbolizes the beginning of a better tomorrow.  We would like to wish you peace and prosperity and may you share your blessings with those around you. Our wish to you is that through our newsletter, special tea events and delicious teas, we can offer you a year filled with new enrichment.  We look forward to providing you with the tea essentials that will allow you to take a moment to delight in its fragrance, reflect on the past year, and ponder the pleasures to come in the New Year. We look forward to seeing you at our new location in Brookline, NH (click here for directions).

Text Box: The month of January brings us two reasons to celebrate tea. January is “National Hot Tea Month,” and the “Chinese New Year.”  Recent research has found that drinking tea may improve the body’s immune system, decrease the risk of heart disease and cancer, and aid in weight loss. (See the Health News section below.)  Why not add drinking three cups of soothing and healthful tea to your daily regimen in the New Year? Legend tells us that it was the Chinese Emperor and creative scientist Shen Nung, who first discovered tea.  Tea consumption then spread throughout China.  Lu Yu, in 800 a.d. wrote the first book on tea called the Ch’a Ching.  Since we have them to thank for this delightful beverage, it is for this reason I mention the Chinese New Year. The Chinese New Year’s festival is celebrated in January with family and friends on the first day of the First Moon of the lunar calendar. They take this time to congratulate each other and themselves on having passed through another year and to welcome the New Year. It signifies turning over a new leaf, and stresses the importance of family ties.

In this month’s newsletter, you’ll find the following news items:
