Fall Contest Winner:  Sorry - none was selected.

September/October/November Contest Theme:  My Artful Tea Experience

Seasonal Category:  Art submission

Deadline:  November 30, 2007

Prize:  A beautiful and artistically designed hand painted ceramic teacup and dinner plate

Contest:  For centuries, the pleasure of tea has been captured through paintings, illustrations, ceramics, photography, and many other mediums.  The Artful Teapot Exhibit is a good example of the use of different artwork mediums dating hundreds of years back to the present.  Many painters, some of which are, Tingqua, Chinnery, Cassat, Hassam, all contributed to the history of tea through their artwork.  The Chinese were responsible for developing the art form of porcelain, which they first traded with the British.  Later, the British potters went on to develop their own form of china, most notably, Wedgewood china.  And there are hundreds of photographs today that capture the tranquility of tea.

Entry Form:  Now it’s time to get creative!  Whatever your specialty is, drawing, pottery, knitting, photography, craftwork--we would like you to capture the tea inspired moment you’ve enjoyed, while sipping a cup of The Cozy Tea Cart’s tea.  It doesn’t have to be elaborate.  We only ask that you incorporate our tea or company name into your artwork medium.  All forms of artwork will be considered.  Here’s what we’ll need:

  • First and Last Name

  • Complete Mailing Address (street, city, state, zip)

  • E-mail Address

  • Artwork Title

  • Original Artwork (we will take a photo upon delivery and return the artwork to the artist).

Rules:

  • Winners must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Only one entry per person for each contest (all additional entries will be removed from consideration).

  • The contest is open to residents of the USA and Canada only.

  • The Cozy Tea Cart's tea or company name must be used in all entries.

  • We will draw ONE winner per contest.  Winners are chosen at random from all properly completed entries.  Decision of the judges is final.

  • Entry forms MUST be filled in completely in order to be considered for the contest, and in order to receive your prize.

  • No substitutions of the prizes are offered.  The winner agrees to accept responsibility of their tea prize.
